what's going on?(random thoughts)

racial tension is getting alot of attention lately...
its in the forefront. from the duke rape case, to the nappy headed hoes...from the seinfeld guy, to tony blair saying the uk is up in crime and violence because of the influence of the 'black culture.

da hell is going on?

there has always been racial tension, so to speak, since the civil rights MOVEMENT. every few years some horrible injustice or some racially charged event would take place. oj simpson...rodney king...black churches burning..etc. but the stuff has been pretty consistant lately.

we are in need of a MOVEMENT.

how can we expect others to treat us better than we do ourselves?

will all of these recent events make any 'rapper' think twice before he calls a black woman a bitch, a ho, or glamorize the negative stereotypes that have plagued black women? to hell with the argument that rappers call all women bitches and hos. when its a black man rappin about a woman and the video shows black women prancing around like whores...its safe to say that even if, in the mind of the rapper, he isnt talking about black women, it will be perceived that way. what would it take for a rapper to be responsible with his fame and talent(if he has any)?

if you build it they will come, if you stop cooking it, nobody will eat it.

the universe expands infinitely until it folds back into itself. a cycle, a round and round again and again. a repeat with deviations sometimes.

for centuries black people have been fed the wrong dam food. in this country, we were slaves, then we were discriminated against, then a MOVEMENT happened and more people died and faced humiliations because they were tired...not tired individually.

you dont face down hounds and waterhoses and people/cops slanging every racial slur in the book at you if you aint tired of the way shit is and determined to make a change. a permanent change, a change that your children will make sure never reverts to the way it was before.

have we forgotten?

seems like we've forgotten. we left the civil rights movement and went ahead without looking back. we looked on to the society in front of us and made our way into it. we blended and melted in and...we adopted the ways of that society instead of filling that society with our own ways. because we didnt know our ways. ignorance.

we did everything to ourselves that they did to us. wasnt no black people callin black people niggas...wasnt no black men callin women hos and bitches. wasnt no woman callin her man a punk ass bitch ass nigga, wasnt no lil black boys and lil black girls disrespecting their parents, wasnt no black men knocking women up and keepin it moving.

and here we are. a community that has expanded and folded back into itself.

what next?

'the world is ever changing, but you remain the same'
